Oscilloscope-Music

Oscilloscope Music is audiovisual music, where the visuals are drawn by the sound. In order to get the closest possible correlation between image and sound, the exact same signal that is connected to the left and right speakers is also connected to an analog oscilloscope’s X and Y inputs, producing complex lissajous images.
Over the span of four years Jerobeam Fenderson and Hansi3D have created ever more elaborate techniques to explore this largely uncharted field of audiovisual music, resulting in a full length album, as well as the unique 3D-audio software OsciStudio. In this performance Hansi3D will explore the interplay between livecoding and oscilloscope music.

Void

The void is a sound performance explores the range of the frequency in empty space. The sound is produced in a closed glass tube by generating audio feedback and I attempt to push the sound at the very limit level towards both low and high frequency within the audible scale. The sound starts from nothing in empty space (void) and it gets amplified by time proceeds. The range of audio frequency is controlled by oscillating, modulating and shifting the hertz when the space is closed and open. Also, the environmental factor influences the sound amplification working like triggers. Different DIY devices are used to create additional sound. These make different ways of feedback between multiple inputs and outputs. The audience will listen to a wide range of sound from very low to very high and fluctuations of the sound waves in different time settings.

pointillism

is a solo live-coding performance in Pd. Both the code representation and the generated audio use “points” and “dots” as building blocks: the music is generated using morse code patterns, the code is written in a “Braille” (the dot-based writing system especially designed for blind/visually-impaired people). The performance is an ironic statement on the popular “show-us-your-screens” paradigm, by presenting the code in a form that does not even pretend to be readable.

Jakub Pišek

In his production, he uses technology both as a medium and as a goal of his interests. Instead of presenting old pieces repetitively, he rather demonstrates creation of a piece on-the-spot. He lets the genius loci be visible, works with site specifics and flexibly reacts to the emerged situation. He is devoted to video, computer graphics, interactivity and music. Now he works as media artist in various fields, like interactivity, performance, audio and video and real time graphics. His background is interdisciplinary, holding degrees in visual and performing arts, software prototyping and computer sience. He is user of open source hardware and software and working in intentions of DIY. Jakub is the man behind famous performance Hallogenerator, Turbosampler and Barcode djs.
